Sun, Fun, So Much To Do!!!!!

Ohhhhhh!!!......We had another great day, today (Sept. 19th)!!! We all did different things, during the day and then shared a perfect evening!

We all enjoyed a slower morning, after not having had a good sleep because of street noise, for alot of the night! We learned that the street bars, on our narrow street, had a lot of partying folks making ALOT of noise!!

Joan & Duff rented bikes and rode them to the dock, to take the ferry to Ilha de Tavira, where they connected with Brian & Delilah, who had made their way to the island beach, earlier.  The four of them loved the beach and swimming in the ocean!!

Before Brian and Delilah went to the beach, they came with Lawrence & I, to the Mercado (Market), where we bought our fresh produce and meat from local farmers for our supper! Very cool place.....we LOVE the market!!!

Lawrence and I spent the day walking about Tavira and reconnecting with the places we have loved! We took in the Fall market in the garden square, checked into car rentals, went grocery shopping and began preparations for supper (which we were hosting, tonight), AND we had an afternoon nap!! When the others got back, from the beach, we headed to an OLD church for an accordion concert, which was amazing!! Yesterday, we met a Canadian couple, Rick and Peggy, from BC. They met us at the concert and invited us to join them and their friend Declan for supper/a drink. Because Lawrence and I were on supper duty, we came back to prepare, while the others (except Joan) went out for drinks with Rick & Peggy, before supper.

We had an wonderful supper on our outdoor terrace!! With candle light ambiance, the smell of a charcoal bar-b-que grilling chicken, tasty wine and wonderful stories and laughter! It was a fun evening!! Here are a few pictures from today......

  1. Sounds perfect. Is the ocean still nice to swim in this time of year?
